Service Description: <div style='text-align:Left;font-size:12pt'><p><span>Estimated and consented OWMS in Canterbury (as at 2025)</span></p><p><span>This layer contains the location of properties in Waitaha Canterbury with consented and estimated (i.e. previously unknown permitted or unconsented) on-site wastewater systems (OWMS)</span></p><p><span>Estimated OWMS density</span></p><p><span>This layer contains information on the density of onsite wastewater management systems in 1 ha grid cells in Waitaha Canterbury</span></p><p><span>Estimated OWMS by district (TA)</span></p><p><span>This layer contains summary estimates of the total number of consented and estimated (i.e. previously unknown permitted and unconsented) OWMS system in each district of Waitaha Canterbury (by Territorial Authority) and the estimated annual load of nitrogen and phosphorus discharged to land from these OWMS</span></p><p><span>Estimated OWMS by locality</span></p><p><span>This layer contains information on the total number of consented and estimated on-site wastewater systems for each suburb or locality in Canterbury and the estimated annual load of nitrogen and phosphorus discharged to land from these OWMS</span></p><p><span>Estimated OWMS nitrogen load discharged in drinking water protection zones</span></p><p><span>This layer contains information on the estimated cumulative discharge of nitrogen to land (in kilograms per year) from onsite wastewater management systems within Community Drinking Water Protection Zones (CDWPZ) in Waitaha Canterbury</span></p><p><span>Estimated OWMS phosphorus load discharged in drinking water protection zones</span></p><p><span>This layer contains information on the estimated cumulative discharge of phosphorus to land (in kilograms per year) from onsite wastewater management systems within Community Drinking Water Protection Zones (CDWPZ) in Waitaha Canterbury</span></p><p><span>Estimated OWMS nitrogen load discharged by catchment</span></p><p><span>This layer contains information on the estimated cumulative discharge of nitrogen to land (in kilograms per year) from onsite wastewater management systems within river catchments in Waitaha Canterbury</span></p><p><span>Estimated OWMS phosphorus load discharged by catchment</span></p><p><span>This layer contains information on the estimated cumulative discharge of phosphorus to land (in kilograms per year) from onsite wastewater management systems within river catchments in Waitaha Canterbury</span></p><p><span>The information comes from research documented in the PHF Science Report "report "Estimating onsite wastewater densities and their associated Total Nitrogen and Total Phosphorus mass loading rates across Waitaha Canterbury" by Qui and Humphries, February 2026.
